A Word From Our Pastor . . .
“Think About This”
This is a first; the first on-line pastor’s article from the Lynnwood Free Methodist Church (LFMC). I hope that I do well on this because God likes “firsts”. The Bible begins with some pretty awesome creation-miracle firsts; then there was the first man of faith that God called – Abraham; the first ocean cruise with Captain Noah. The coming of Messiah had many firsts connected with it as well.
We all have had “firsts” in our lives and some are memorable, while others we would just as soon forget. The most significant first for me was when I realized that there was a force – beyond me or transcendent from me – that really loved me and was really communicating with me. I’d always believed there was a “God” but I never personally took that belief very seriously. Call it my “first contact”, but what ever it was, from that time on there was an absolute certainty in my soul and spirit that there was a God, that he was good and that he was trying – through some weird stuff – to convey that message to me!
How about you? Are you feeling that there is a “communicator” who is sending some stuff to you that you can’t really figure out? Through the centuries men and women have had this experience and have found that when they sought answers, they found them! Sometimes even before they get around to the actual seeking, something will happen that dumps an answer right into their lap. That sounds really wild, but it seems to be one of the ways that God communicates that he loves us.
